Do I need my driver’s license to make a reservation?
When making a reservation, you do not need to provide your driver's license number, but you do need to have a valid driver's license to pick up the selected vehicle and you must indicate that you have at least 2 years of experience.
How old do I need to be to rent from Alquicoche?
If you are between 20 and 75 years old and have 2 years of driving experience, you can rent and drive our vehicles, but please note that those under 25 years old or over 65 years old must pay an additional young or senior driver fee, applicable to all young and senior drivers established in the contract. For vans or luxury vehicles the minimum age is 21 years old. If in doubt, please consult with the office in charge of your reservation.
During pick-up, a valid driver's license must be presented; in addition, driver's licenses that are not written in Latin script, e.g. Chinese, Japanese or Cyrillic, must be accompanied by an international driver's license.
Do I need to own a credit card to make a reservation?
Yes, during vehicle reservation, your credit card is needed. A valid credit card is the basis of every vehicle rent. Your credit card will be charged during the process.
Can I use my credit card to make a reservation for another person?
You can, however keep in mind that the person signing the contract needs to be the card holder of a valid credit card.
Which credit cards do you accept?
We accept all credit card: Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Diners Club, JCB, and UnionPay.
Note: we do not accept prepaid or electron cards, travel cards, nor Visa Electron or Maestro.
If the card does not allow blocking of the deposit, a charge will be made and a 3% bank commission will be retained on its return.
Is my credit card charged during reservation?
Yes, during the reservation we block the deposit on your credit card.
Can I pick a specific car model?
Although we do try to keep every clients wish in mind, sadly we cannot guarantee a specific model, only the selected car category.
What category of vehicles can I Reserve?

Can I reserve a vehicle with a diesel engine?
We do not guarantee a specific type of fuel, but you can let us know your preference and we will do our best to arrange a diesel engine car for you.
Can I pick up my reservation in locations other than your offices?
We offer such service; however, it must be arranged 48 hours prior to vehicle pick-up, and is charged according to our additional services price list.

What is Insurance Excess?
Insurance Excess is the maximum amount the client can be held responsible for in case of an accident. Its height depends on the vehicle category, and the amount can be checked during the reservation process.
What are additional insurance packages?
Additional insurance packages provide greater coverage and in certain cases may reduce the deductible.
What is SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver)?
SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver) is additional insurance which buys out the excess (participation in damage) done on the vehicles body.
What is CDW+ (Collision Damage Waiver Plus)?
CDW+ (Collision Damage Waiver Plus) is an additional insurance which buys out a part of the excess for damages done on the vehicles body.
What is WUG (Wheels Undercarriage and Glass protection)?
WUG (Wheels Undercarriage and Glass protection) is additional insurance which buys out the excess for damages done to the wheels, underside and glass.
How can I decrease the excess amount?
You can decrease it by choosing an additional insurance package, and per the package selected the excess amount is lowered.
Can I choose additional insurance during the reservation process?
Yes, if you wish to purchase our additional insurance you can view the complete information about the price of your rental at the time of booking; however, you can always select additional packages and services during the pick-up of the vehicle.
Do I need to reserve additional equipment before the vehicle pickup?
To be certain that the desired equipment will be available during pick up, we advise you to reserve it during the vehicle reservation process. However, according to availability you can also request it in our offices.
What additional equipment can I select during the reservation process or at the vehicle pickup itself?
In our selection, we offer WiFi, GPS (satellite), child seat/booster, tyre chains etc.
Can I use the rented vehicle outside of Spain?
As our customer, you can use our vehicles within mainland Spain and only on request in other authorized countries (Andorra, Gibraltar, France and Portugal). In the event that you plan to use our vehicle outside the borders of Spain, if authorized, you will be charged a special rate and your rental conditions may be modified. The authorization must be in writing and prior to the pick up of the vehicle. Please note that the penalty for leaving Spanish territory WITHOUT authorization is 950 euros + VAT.
Can the rented vehicle be transported via ferry?
All our customers have the possibility to request authorization to leave the peninsular territory to the Balearic Islands. However, a special fee is charged in such a case. Please note that the penalty for leaving the peninsular territory WITHOUT authorization is 950 euros + VAT.
Is there a limit on the mileage done during the rent period?
Yes, and the mileage limit is always clearly indicated. If it is not stated, it is 150 km/day with 0.18 €/km excess.
Is there a maximum vehicle rent period?
The maximum rent period is 30 days. However, in case of a need for a longer rent period than the one designated here, please contact our Customer support.
What is the minimum amount of time I can rent a vehicle for?
Our vehicles can be used for a couple of hours per your desires, however the minimum amount charged is always 24 hours. Pick up, and drop off time is always selected during the reservation process.
Can the rented vehicle be dropped off at a location other than the pick up one?
Only upon request and for an additional fee. Alquicoche has Meet and Greet locations at airports, ports, train or bus stations, which can be used as pick-up or drop-off locations. You can consult the list of offices, as well as select the pick-up and drop-off location during the booking process. The cost of this service will be calculated and added to the rental cost during the reservation.
Can drop off be agreed upon for a city which does not have your office or even outside of Spain?
No, Alquicoche does not offers such a service.
Does the reservation need to have the exact pick up time?
During the reservation process, you need to state the exact pick up time. However, you can change the pickup time up until 12 hours before vehicle pick up.
Note: in case of late arrivals, we hold the right not to release the vehicle
Can pick up and drop off be selected outside the working hours of the office?
Yes, however in case of pick up and drop off outside the offices working hours a special fee is charged that is stated during the reservation process. You can check the working hours of every office under the Contacts section.
